  3.   The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and 
  4. Saturn were all known to be planets which moved across 
  5. a band of the sky (the zodiac) with various influences 
  6. on life on Earth. Each planet was associated with its 
  7. own god. Mars, for example, being reddish in color, 
  8. was associated with war, while the morning "star" 
  9. Venus was seen as giving birth to the day and was 
  10. thus associated with femininity, fertility, and love.
